What do you believe? And why?
Where did that come from? Who do you know that might share that belief?
Beliefs are ideas that become formed and held in our subconscious mind either by directly learning or developing them on purpose (like, “I like this kind of music”) or by ‘accidentally’ absorbing the beliefs of other people around us, like our families’ ideas or the ideas of our culture (eg. ‘Everyone should get a job’).
This means that often we can be unaware that we have a particular belief or idea about something until we draw attention to it in our conscious mind!
Beliefs are constructions that we can create, sustain and dismantle with practice. They should serve our better health and balance and also be beneficial to and inclusive of humanity in general, if they aren’t, then we should question them.
